Rivers State Government Invites Assembly Members for Crucial Meeting

Port Harcourt, 9 March 2025 – The Rivers State Government has extended an official invitation to the Honourable Speaker and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for a significant meeting scheduled for Monday, 10 March 2025. The meeting, to be held at 10:00 am in the Office of the Governor at Government House, Port Harcourt, aims to address pressing issues affecting the state and chart a path forward for the benefit of its people.

The invitation, penned by Chief Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo, DSSRS, Secretary to the Rivers State Government, follows up on a promise made by His Excellency, the Governor, in a letter dated 5 March 2025. The letter, addressed to Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule, DSSRS, Honourable Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, highlights the need for collaborative dialogue to resolve outstanding matters.

Key agenda items for the meeting include, provision of a befitting space for the Assembly’s sittings; Payment of all outstanding remuneration or allowances owed to Honourable members; Presentation of the Budget and sundry matters; Discussion of any other matters deemed necessary to chart the way forward in the best interest of the state.

The Secretary expressed optimism about the outcome of the meeting, noting, “Many thanks, Sir, as we look forward to your kind attendance with a view to charting the way forward in the interest of the good people of Rivers State.”
