LAGOS, 18 April 2025 – Peter Obi, prominent Nigerian statesman and advocate for justice, has announced the release of Quadri Yusuf Alabi, a young boy whose unjust incarceration sparked widespread outrage. Obi expressed profound gratitude to the legal team led by Inibehe Effiong, alongside human rights advocates Dele Farotimi and Hassana Nurudeen, whose relentless efforts secured justice for the young lad.

In a heartfelt meeting with Quadri, Obi was deeply moved by the boy’s unwavering determination to pursue education despite his ordeal. “Listening to Quadri today, one thing stood out: his resolute desire to return to school and complete his education,” Obi said. “I am personally committed to ensuring he receives the education he both desires and deserves.”

Obi stressed that Quadri’s release is only the first step.
