Peter Obi Donates ₦20 Million to Orphanage School in Kaduna
Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has once again demonstrated his commitment to education and social welfare by donating ₦20 million towards the construction of a school for orphans near Kafanchan, Kaduna State.
The donation came after a meeting where a bishop shared the challenges faced in building classrooms and administrative blocks for the school, which will primarily serve children orphaned due to insecurity in the region. With little to no government support, the project had been struggling to secure funding.
Moved by the plight of the children, Peter Obi decided to visit the school personally, assess the progress, and offer his support. During the visit, he announced his donation, reinforcing his belief that investing in education—particularly for vulnerable children—is a crucial step towards building a better Nigeria.
"Investing in education, especially for vulnerable children, is investing in the future of our dear nation," Obi stated, emphasising the importance of prioritising education as a tool for national development.
His donation aligns with his longstanding advocacy for improved education and social equity, underscoring the principle that leadership is about empathy, action, and showing up when it matters—especially for those who have no one to show up for them.
For many, this gesture represents the vision of a New Nigeria—one where no child is left behind and every citizen is given the opportunity to thrive.
