President Tinubu Heads to France Ahead of African Union Summit in Ethiopia

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Wednesday for Paris, France, on a private visit before heading to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the upcoming African Union (AU) Summit.

According to a statement released by Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu will participate in the 46th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council and the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of AU Heads of State, scheduled to take place from February 12 to 16, 2025.

During his stop in Paris, the Nigerian leader is expected to hold talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, reinforcing diplomatic ties between both nations.

President Tinubu is scheduled to arrive in Addis Ababa early next week to join other African leaders in discussions on key continental issues, including economic development, security, and regional cooperation.

This visit comes at a crucial time for Africa as leaders seek to address pressing challenges and strengthen collective action through the AU framework.
