Renowned author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has announced her latest novel, Dream Count. Sharing the news on social media, Adichie expressed her excitement about seeing the book take physical form, remarking on the “magical mechanics of DREAM COUNT coming physically alive!” and the “soothing” sound of the printing press in motion.

Dream Count introduces readers to Chiamaka, a Nigerian travel writer living in America. Isolated during the pandemic, she reflects on her past relationships and wrestles with the weight of her choices and regrets. Surrounding her are three other women whose lives intertwine with hers:
Zikora, a lawyer who has always excelled but finds herself struggling after heartbreak and betrayal.
Omelogor, Chiamaka’s confident and successful cousin, who begins to question her own identity and ambitions.
Kadiatou, Chiamaka’s housekeeper, raising her daughter in America while facing an unimaginable hardship that threatens everything she has worked for.
Through these layered narratives, Dream Count delves into profound questions: Is true happiness attainable, or is it merely fleeting? How honest must we be with ourselves in order to truly love and be loved? Adichie crafts a novel that explores the intricacies of love, friendship, and the weight of our decisions, all through her signature lyrical prose and keen insight into the human heart.
