Abuja , 21 February 2025— Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, led a distinguished delegation to the Abuja residence of the late Chief Edwin Clark on Friday, paying tribute to the prominent statesman and leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), who passed away recently.
The delegation, which included former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai and former Adamawa State Governor Bindow Jibrilla, was welcomed by Pen Clark, representing the family of the deceased.
During the visit, Atiku Abubakar emphasised that the most fitting way to immortalise Chief Clark is through the implementation of a deliberate agenda centred on unity and inclusiveness across Nigeria. He urged those present to reflect on Chief Clark's legacy, which was marked by a commitment to national unity.
Mallam el-Rufai echoed these sentiments, advising the Clark family to honour their patriarch's memory by continuing his lifelong struggle for a united Nigeria. His call to action underscored the importance of sustaining the values and principles that Chief Clark championed throughout his life.
The visit serves as a poignant reminder of the impact that Chief Edwin Clark had on the country and the ongoing need for unity in Nigeria, as expressed by these prominent political figures.
