Eid-el-Fitr: Tinubu Welcomes Wike and FCT Delegation to Aso Villa
Abuja, 30th March 2025 – President Bola Tinubu has opened the doors of the Presidential Banquet Hall at the State House in Abuja to host his first group of guests for the Eid-el-Fitr homage, marking a significant moment of unity and celebration. The event commenced at 12:16 pm on Sunday when the President arrived at the venue, greeted by an array of dignitaries from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The delegation, led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, includes a diverse assembly of notable figures. Among those in attendance are lawmakers representing the FCT at the National Assembly, chairpersons of the FCT area councils, traditional rulers, as well as leaders from both the Christian and Muslim communities. Senior judicial officers are also present, underscoring the broad representation at the gathering.
The proceedings began with opening prayers offered by Dr Timothy Amazon, Chairman of the FCT Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, and Professor SAS Galadanci, the Murshid of the National Mosque, symbolising the interfaith harmony of the occasion.
According to the schedule seen by this newspaper, Minister Wike is set to deliver the opening remarks, after which the guests will present cards to President Tinubu in a ceremonial gesture. Among the attendees seated at the event are Vice President Kashim Shettima, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.
