Abuja, 4 April 2025 – The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has ushered in a new era of leadership as Bayo Ojulari officially took over as Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) from his predecessor, Mele Kyari, during a handover ceremony at the NNPC Towers on Friday.
In his first address as GCEO, Ojulari praised Kyari for his significant contributions to the company’s growth and his dedicated service to Nigeria. He outlined his vision to "consolidate on the successes" of Kyari’s tenure and elevate NNPC Ltd to new heights. Acknowledging the ambitious targets ahead, Ojulari emphasised the importance of teamwork, stating that he would rely heavily on the cooperation of the company’s management and staff, as well as the guidance of his predecessor.
“I will be counting on your support. I will need it. I will be coming around to seek your counsel,” Ojulari said, addressing Kyari directly during the ceremony.
Kyari, in his farewell remarks, congratulated Ojulari on his appointment and expressed gratitude to the NNPC Ltd management and staff for their unwavering support during his time in office. He assured the new leadership of his continued availability, promising to offer assistance whenever needed. “I am only a call away,” Kyari affirmed, pledging to do everything in his power to ensure the success of the incoming administration.
